Lance Jones

Lance is a twenty year veteran of the high tech industry. Lance spent more than a decade as the General Counsel for one of the most prominent privately held software businesses in the world. Lance was the architect behind developing the Intellectual Property protection program and litigation strategy in the “David vs. Goliath” Versata vs. SAP intellectual property battle that resulted in his client winning one of the largest patent infringement judgments in history. The success of Lance’s non-traditional, “unbundled” methodology for successfully managing legal matters across a global delivery network, from the most routine to the most complex, has been the subject of a number of CLE events and articles, including “Global Tech” by Richard Acello, The National Law Journal, September 30, 2009. Companies ranging from one-person startups to the Fortune 500 successfully outsource their intellectual property, contracts, and licensing function to Lance and his global team. Lance is also a member of the UT Law Annual Technology Law Conference Planning Committee.
